Book Club Night: Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid
Some books stay with you long after you turn the last page, and Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid was exactly that kind of read. Thoughtful, emotional, and completely immersive, it brought us into a world of ambition, love, and what it meant to chase something extraordinary in a time when women weren’t always welcome in the room, let alone in space. Book Summary Atmosphere follows a brilliant and determined young woman navigating the high-stakes world of NASA in the 1980s.

My Friends by Fredrik Backman
Fredrik Backman has a way of writing stories that feel deeply human, and My Friends is no exception. This book is a heartfelt, emotional reflection on friendship, creativity, and the quiet ways people shape one another’s lives, often without even realizing it at the time. Centered around art and the bonds that form through shared experiences, My Friends explores memory, meaning, and the enduring impact of the people who become part of our story. It’s tender, thoughtful, and

Summer Book Club: Every Summer After (and the Persephone Moment)
Some book club meetings just feel like summer. Our Every Summer After gathering was exactly that — sunny, nostalgic, effortless, and one of those nights that instantly becomes a favourite memory. We read Every Summer After by Carley Fortune , the ultimate summer romance: cottage vibes, old love, second chances, and that bittersweet feeling of looking back on the summers that shape you. It was such a fun seasonal read, and the hosts absolutely delivered by turning book club

Friendsgiving Book Club: A Million Little Choices
Some book club meetings are about the book. And some are about the feeling in the room. This one was both. For this meeting, my friend Lauren and I decided to combine book club with one of my favourite traditions: Friendsgiving . The result was one of the coziest, most joyful nights of the year — full of good food, flannel, laughter, and a book that sparked such a great conversation. Our Pick: A Million Little Choices We chose A Million Little Choices — a book built around a

June Book Club: Five Little Indians (National Indigenous History Month)
For June, in honour of National Indigenous History Month , our book club chose one of the most impactful books we have ever read: Five Little Indians by Michelle Good . This book was recommended to us by Indigenous people we know in nearby communities, and to this day, it remains one of my personal favourites from our entire book club history. A Difficult but Essential Read This was not an easy book to read, but it was an incredibly important one. Five Little Indians follow

A Fur-Themed Galentine’s Escape to Tremblant: The Vanishing Half
Some book club meetings are cozy nights in. And some become full-blown unforgettable weekends away. This one was the latter. For Galentine’s, we planned a weekend escape to Mont-Tremblant , and rented what might honestly be the most spectacular Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in. The kind of place that makes you walk in and immediately say, okay… we will never top this. It had everything: a dry sauna a hot tub an indoor fireplace an outdoor fire pit beautiful, sprawling living spaces

A Christmas Book Club Night Out: One Last Gift
Our next book club meeting was perfectly timed for the season: a Christmas-themed read, cozy plans, and a festive night together right in the middle of the holiday rush. We chose One Last Gift by Emily Stone , which felt like it had all the ingredients for a sentimental December book club pick. A Little Background on the Book One Last Gift is a holiday romance that follows a woman navigating grief and change during the Christmas season, when an unexpected gift sets her on

A Gothic Halloween Book Club (That Was More Treat Than Thriller)
A Gothic Halloween Book Club (That Was More Treat Than Thriller) Our next book club meeting leaned fully into the season: Halloween, gothic style, spooky snacks, candlelight, and a mystery/thriller pick that felt perfect for October. We chose None of This Is True by Lisa Jewell — a book that promised secrets, suspense, and a chilling story hiding just beneath the surface. Naturally, we planned a night to match. The Theme: Gothic Halloween Everyone understood the assignment

Happy Place at the Cottage: Our Favourite Book Club Weekend
Some book club meetings are fun. Some are memorable. And then there are the ones that become legendary . Our Happy Place weekend at the cottage, hosted by my sister and I, is still — to this day — everyone’s favourite book club gathering. We loved the book, of course, but there was also something else in the air that weekend… something truly special. It felt like the kind of weekend you wish you could bottle up and keep forever. It was a perfectly organized cottage stay (of
