A Fur-Themed Galentine’s Escape to Tremblant: The Vanishing Half

Some book club meetings are cozy nights in.

And some become full-blown unforgettable weekends away.

This one was the latter.

For Galentine’s, we planned a weekend escape to Mont-Tremblant, and rented what might honestly be the most spectacular Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in. The kind of place that makes you walk in and immediately say, okay… we will never top this.

It had everything:

  • a dry sauna

  • a hot tub

  • an indoor fireplace

  • an outdoor fire pit

  • beautiful, sprawling living spaces

  • and even a netted lounging area on the second floor where you could relax by the windows like you were in a magazine shoot

It was warm, luxurious, and the perfect backdrop for a girls’ weekend.

The Theme (Because We Always Need One): Fur

Of course, we needed a theme.

This weekend’s theme was fur.

And let me tell you… everyone absolutely showed up.

We all had the most ridiculous fur outfits, and somehow committed to wearing them all weekend long. It was over-the-top in the best way and genuinely so much fun.

In full fur getup, we ventured out into Tremblant Village, and yes, we got a lot of looks — but that was half the joy. We shopped, we ate, we drank, and we laughed the entire time.

Back at the house, the weekend was everything you want it to be:

Taking turns cooking meals, playing games, watching movies, sitting by the fire, soaking in the hot tub… just being together.

The Main Event: A Galentine’s Raclette & Fondue Book Club Dinner

For our official book club discussion night, we went all in with a full Galentine’s-themed raclette and fondue dinner.

Everyone contributed something, and it ended up being the perfect cozy, indulgent meal for the vibe of the weekend. We dressed up, lit candles, made it feel special, and settled in for a long dinner filled with great conversation.

Our Pick: The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett

This month, in honour of Black History Month, we chose a book centered around Black identity and lived experience:

The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett.

This is such a powerful and fascinating book club choice because it gives you so much to talk about.

The story follows twin sisters who grow up in a small Southern Black community and take completely different paths in life — one staying connected to her roots, and the other choosing to “pass” in a different world entirely. It explores themes of:

  • identity

  • family

  • race and privilege

  • reinvention

  • the choices we make, and what they cost

It’s the kind of novel that sparks thoughtful discussion because every chapter raises questions about belonging, perception, and how deeply our histories shape us.

And this time, the book truly delivered.

We all found it incredibly interesting, and worth the read.

A Weekend That Had Everything

This Tremblant Galentine’s weekend was the perfect mix of fun, friendship, theme chaos, amazing food, meaningful conversation, and a book that stayed with us.

Fur outfits, fondue, fires, and one of our best discussions yet.

A book club weekend I’ll never forget.
