Remembering my Step-Father through his famous Tortière Pies

A Note From My Home to Yours.

Below you’ll find a deeply personal recipe — my stepdad Richard’s famous tourtière. We shared this recipe with friends and family at his Celebration of Life, because for us, it represents so much more than food: it represents tradition, warmth, and memory.

We truly believe this is the crème de la crème of tourtière — the perfect balance of rich filling and an unforgettable crust. It has yet to be beat, and every year, without fail, someone requests “just one more pie.”

Since Richard’s passing, my mother, sister, and I have taken over making them each holiday season, dedicated to keeping this tradition alive in his honour.

I’m sharing it here with this small community in the hope that a piece of him continues to live on — through cooking, gathering, and the family traditions created in kitchens far beyond our own.

We miss you.
We miss you.
