For #1, I set out to run a 5 kilometer race, something that only a few months ago would have felt completely out of reach.

I chose the Army Runn in September, and it was such a meaningful experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was filled with gratitude and support, and it was incredibly moving to be part of an event that honours the women and men of the Canadian Armed Forces, who serve in so many ways at home and abroad. Thank you for your service.

What made this milestone even more special is that I truly started running from zero earlier this year. This race became the starting point of a much bigger goal, the beginning of a running journey that I hope will eventually lead me to a half marathon.

I ran alongside my sister and my best friend, which made the day even better. There was something so energizing about being surrounded by people showing up for their own reasons, cheering one another on, and sharing in the joy of accomplishing something hard.

It was a beautiful day, I felt strong, and I finished proud, not just of the race itself, but of the progress it represents.

#1 Complete. Run a 5K race. One beautiful challenge at a time.
