Hi, I’m Emily — a lifelong lover of hosting, traditions, and creating spaces that feel warm, beautiful, and lived in. Creative Home is where I’ve gathered all the pieces of my creativity in one place: the recipes I make on repeat, the dinners and celebrations that bring people together, the organized crafts, and the thoughtful touches that turn everyday moments into something special. I created this space as a way to share more broadly what I’ve always loved most — cooking for others, curating cozy gatherings, and building a home that feels inviting, intentional, and full of heart. My hope is that Creative Home inspires you to try something new, start a tradition of your own, and make your home a place where people love to gather.
And this is my husband, Derek — the ultimate maker and the perfect counterpart to all of my hosting ideas. He can truly fix or build just about anything. Woodworker, mechanic, plumber, electrician, builder… you name it, he’s mastered it.
Need an extension built onto our dining table because I suddenly require more place settings for a dinner party? No problem. Custom engraved place cards my dinner party? Also no problem. Derek brings so much creativity to our home through the beautiful pieces he designs and creates, whether it’s something functional, meaningful, or made especially for one of my many hosting moments.
We make a great duo because I love to dream things up and design the experience — and Derek has the talent to bring it all to life.
